Communicating change

Between 60% and 70% of change programs fail to meet their objectives. The difference between success and failure comes down to the ability of your leaders to communicate change. And the most crucial influencers are your day-to-day, front-line leaders on the ground. Evidence shows that most will fall short of what is needed of them.

We provide a common, readily understood framework, for the way all front-line leaders on the ground communicate change. We also give participants insight into the psychology of change. We identify the key psychological concepts that help to explain why change so often fails to meet its objectives.

When Coca-Cola undertook a radical restructuring of its European operation, the business recognized the vital importance of communicating honestly and openly with its associates. Threshold was on hand to help. We supported leaders in delivering clear, coherent messages, using words that build trust and dealing with difficult comments and questions. We also enabled those managers who needed to have difficult conversation to do so with clarity and compassion. In Threshold’s workshops, all associates were equipped with methods and techniques to strengthen their own personal resilience when going through change.

 

Direct Energy: Effective integration for mergers and acquisitions

Direct Energy is the most dynamic and fast-growing provider of energy to the residential market in North America. With the backing of its parent company, it has been aggressively on the acquisition trail for several years. However there is a wealth of evidence to show that, in the ‘post-merger’ blues morale and engagement falls, talent leaves and performance drops.
