The brief

Threshold’s relationship with Aviva began in the early 2000s and the inception of the Aviva brand. The initial goal was to enhance the ability of line managers to effectively engage with their teams. Over time, the focus shifted to supporting Aviva’s new Performance Review process through the implementation of Honest Performance Conversations. Most recently, Threshold has been tasked with equipping Aviva’s in-house Systems Thinking consultants to gain buy-in and influence leaders across the business.

To address Aviva’s evolving needs, Threshold adopted a multi-phase approach:

Initial Engagement
Strengthened the capabilities of line managers across Europe, Asia, and North America to improve team engagement and management effectiveness.

Performance Conversations Rollout

Collaborated closely with Aviva to develop and implement Honest Performance Conversations, aligning with the company’s new Performance Review process. This centred on role-plays and theatre-based learning which simulated the sort of challenging feedback conversations that line-managers typically need to have with their people

Influencing skills for inhouse consultants

Provided targeted training and resources to Aviva’s in-house Systems Thinking consultants. The goal was to enhance their ability to secure buy-in from key stakeholders and effectively influence leadership decisions.
